It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Zachary David Marx, affectionately known to his friends and family as Zachattack or Zachariah, who left us far too soon at the age of 20. Born on August 19, 2005, in Sarasota, Florida, Zach grew up surrounded by love in Port Charlotte, where he embraced life with an unparalleled zeal. He dreamed big, always envisioning a future where he could light up the world, and he did just that for all who knew him.
Zach was an eternal dreamer, always fueled by hopes of stardom and a desire to spread joy. Known for his infectious laughter and humor, he could light up a room just by walking in. He found his passion in music, pouring his soul into songwriting and singing—often freestyling with friends Cason and Shawn. He possessed a unique talent that resonated deeply with those fortunate enough to hear them.
Zach attended Port Charlotte High School and worked as a welder alongside his brother-in-law and on the docks. He was known for his willingness to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. Whether he was in the kitchen preparing a meal or gathered around a bonfire sharing laughter, Zach truly valued time spent with family and friends. His passion for cooking was evident in the many kitchens where he worked, leaving a lasting impression through the meals he created. He also found joy in the beauty of the outdoors, embracing his adventurous side through four-wheeling, fishing, and making memories with those closest to him.
He was beloved by all, especially by his parents, Tonya and Kenneth, and his wife, Adriana Marx, whom he married on August 5, 2025, in a beautiful ceremony at Torch Lake, Michigan. His heart was as big as his dreams, and he had an undeniable talent for making everyone happy.
He was a dedicated son, brother, uncle, husband, and friend. Zach is survived by his cherished mother Tonya Marx, his beloved siblings Dylan, Kenneth (K.C.), Courtney, Samantha (Carson), Mackenzie (Jordan), and his adoring nieces, Skyler, Aaliyah, and Ainsley, and his loving wife, Adriana. He is also remembered fondly by his grandparents, Frank Mastrototaro and Joanne Saladino, and Margaret Umbrino, along with countless friends who will forever carry the weight of his absence in their hearts.
Zachary was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Charles Marx Jr., and his stepbrother Khyler, along with his treasured Nanny.
As we gather to celebrate Zach's life, we hope to honor his incredible legacy. A public viewing will be held on April 18, 2026, at 5:00 PM at the Life Celebration Center in Punta Gorda. A heartfelt funeral service will take place at 6:00 PM, followed by a Life Celebration that we know Zach would have wanted—filled with laughter, stories, and music.
Zach leaves behind a profound impact on all who knew him, and while words may fall short, we strive to encapsulate the love and joy he brought into our lives. He had an indomitable spirit, a heart of gold, and a contagious laughter that will forever echo in our memories.
In lieu of flowers and in his memory, we wish to shine a light on the importance of mental health. For those in need, resources are available through the Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention at https://theactionalliance.org.
As we navigate this time of sorrow, we encourage everyone to lean on one another and find comfort in shared memories of Zach. His sister shared, “I have so much to say, yet I’m at a loss for words. He was an extraordinary person who touched countless lives in so many meaningful ways that it’s hard to put it all into words. He was an incredible brother and was deeply loved by so many. He carried a powerful fire within his heart and endured more than most, yet all he ever wanted was for those around him to experience laughter and joy.”
In the days ahead, may we honor Zach by holding one another close, sharing stories, and remembering the light he brought into the lives of everyone who knew him.
