Yvette Dostie

December 12, 1929 — September 30, 2025

Yvette Dostie (95) died September 30 in Punta Gorda, Florida. She was the third of seven children born in Lewiston, Maine to Napoleon and Bernice (Guite) Boucher and a graduate of Edward Little High School in Auburn. In 1949 she married Jules Dostie and, together over the succeeding decades they raised six children, grew the family jewelry business and retired to Florida.

Ever active in her community and the Maine jewelry industry, Yvette also ice skated, snow skied, sailed, built stone walls, hosted dinners, read bedtime stories, made creton, drove a governor's campaign van, panned for gold, mined for tourmalines in Newry, rocked grandchildren to sleep, and made innumerable friends. She lived a full life.

Yvette is predeceased by her husband Jules, her son Thomas, daughter-in-law Jill Victor, brothers Roger, Laurence and Perley, and sister Lillian Goldsmith. She is survived by her sister Lorraine Belanger, her brother Paul Boucher, her sons Paul (and his wife Karin McIlvaine), Jacques (and wife Diane), Daniel (and wife Susan), Jules Jr. (and wife Holly), daughter Mary Dostie-Ladd, daughter-in-law Lynn and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A late May 2026 celebration-of-life memorial will be held in Harpswell.
