William Joseph "Joe" Fluharty, Jr., age 90, of Media, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, at his home in North Fort Myers, Florida.

Born and raised in Media, Joe proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years during the Korean War. Following his military service, he built a long and successful career as an officer at James J. Skelly.

Joe married the love of his life, Regina "Jean" Fluharty, and together they shared 68 wonderful years of marriage. They raised five children in Chadds Ford, creating a home filled with laughter, family traditions, and unconditional love.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Jean, and their children: William Fluharty III (Cheryl), Michael Fluharty (Ann Marie), Kathleen Pilla (Tom), Kevin Fluharty (Rose), and Linda DiMatteo (Rob). Joe was a proud grandfather to 18 grandchildren, a great-grandfather to 9, and a great-great-grandfather - each of whom brought him tremendous joy.

Joe's greatest passions were his family, the game of golf, and his time spent near the water. His love for golf began as a teenager when he worked as a caddy at the Atlantic City Country Club. He loved nothing more than being at the beach, captaining his boat with his children and grandchildren, creating countless cherished memories that will live on through generations.

One of the many ways Joe expressed his love was through handwritten letters. Over the years, he took time to share his thoughts and wisdom during pivotal moments in the lives of those he cared for most. Nearly six decades ago, Joe started an annual father-son fishing trip to Cape Hatteras-now in its 59th year-which continues to grow and carry on through future generations.

He will be remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. His legacy of family, laughter, and love of life will continue to shine through all who knew him.
