On January 25, 2026, the world lost a kind and adventurous soul with the unexpected passing of Ty Cooper Ford of Punta Gorda, Florida. Ty was known for his energetic spirit and love for the outdoors. Ty was happiest when he was biking, exploring, and embracing every adventure life offered. His smile and laugh were infectious and will be impossible to forget.
Ty was born on September 2, 2007, and is survived by his mother, Diane Ford, and her husband, Jon Perry; his father, Daniel Ford; a brother, Zachary Ford; step‑siblings, Seth and Samantha Perry; maternal grandmother, Becky Kirkell; and paternal grandparents, Roger and Sherrill Ford. Each of them will forever cherish the joy he brought into their lives. He also leaves behind other close family members and friends in both Punta Gorda and in Londonderry, New Hampshire, where he grew up.
In honoring Ty's memory, on February 1, 2026, in Londonderry, New Hampshire, at LAFA Fields (20 Sargent Road) at 7:00 pm there will be a candle lighting ceremony in his honor. In Punta Gorda on February 6, 2026, a celebration of life will be held from 3:30-5:30 pm at the Life Celebration Center of Punta Gorda (1515 S Tamiami Trail), followed by a final gate call at Charlotte BMX (2505 Carmalita Street) at 6:00 pm.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Tamiami Tavern for providing the food, to the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce for their support during this challenging time, and to everyone who has shown love and kindness to the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the GoFundMe established to support scholarship funds for BMX racing, ensuring that Ty's passion continues to inspire young riders.
Ty's absence leaves an ache that words cannot soften, but his spirit-bold, warm, and endlessly adventurous-will forever live on in all who knew him.
"Laugh louder, I'm listening."
