Teresita Veras

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Teresita Veras, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who peacefully left this world on September 25, 2025, at the age of 72. Born in 1953, in the Philippines, Teresita exuded warmth and compassion throughout her life. She proudly made her home in Punta Gorda, Florida, after moving from Ohio, in 1991.

Teresita dedicated her life to caring for others, serving as a registered nurse until her retirement in 2018. Her compassionate nature and unwavering commitment to her patients touched the lives of many in the healthcare community.

As a former member of the Filipino-American Society, Teresita found joy in celebrating her heritage and sharing her Filipino culture with others. She was a devout Catholic and a firm believer in God, finding comfort and strength in her faith. Whether it was singing karaoke, dancing, or engaging in heartfelt conversations with family and friends, Teresita's vibrant spirit brought warmth and happiness to those around her.

Teresita is survived by Michelle Hammer (Matthew), Quinn Hammer, N. Veras, MJ, CJ, Leopoldo Alcantara, Romeo Alcantara, and Luzviminda Santos. Each of them carry a piece of her beautiful legacy in their hearts.

Teresita was preceded in death by Mario and Beatriz Alcantara, Federico Veras, Julieta Bayro, Ernesto Alcantara, and Junior Alcantara.

A memorial service will be scheduled for a future date allowing those whose lives she touched to come together and share cherished memories.

Teresita's legacy of love, compassion, and joy will forever resonate in the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
