Sidney Parker, Jr.

Sidney Parker, Jr., 79, of Punta Gorda passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012. He was son of Sidney Parker, Sr, and Edna (Brady), born and raised in Punta Gorda on June 1, 1932. Sidney served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Cleveland United Methodist Church and enjoying going fishing, hunting and walking his dog. Sidney will be great missed by his daughter, Martha (Timothy) Hayostek of Salisbury, NC; sons, Robert of Polk City, FL, Danny (Sherrie) of Pilot Mountain, NC and John of Punta Gorda, FL; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty and grandson, Keith. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. A service to celebrate Sidney's life will be at 11:00 am, Monday, May 14, 2012 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial to follow at Indian Springs Cemetery.
