Sheila Mae (Michaud) Blais, 71 of Punta Gorda, formerly of Massena died peacefully, early Saturday morning March 12, 2022, at the Tidewell Hospice House in Englewood.

Following her wishes, her family will honor her life privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be shared with Tidewell Foundation, 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34238, or Potsdam Humane Society, 17 Madrid Ave, Potsdam, NY 13676.

Sheila was born to the Late Jerry and Dorothy (Allen) Michaud on October 26, 1950, in Massena. She attended Massena Schools and graduated from Massena High School in 1969. She married Steven N. Blais on August 29, 1970, at Sacred Heart Church with Father Billmeyer presiding.

Sheila was a stay a home mom and then entered the workforce as a typesetter at Stubbs Printing. She then moved to Cappello Linden and Ladouceur as legal secretary until Retirement in 2015. Sheila was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved to go shopping with her friends and sisters. Sheila loved to decorate and do crafts. She enjoyed looking at the lake and the animals from her lanai. Sheila enjoyed her morning coffee with her neighbors. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda.

Sheila is survived by a daughter, Amy and her Husband Thomas W. McCabe of Potsdam, NY.; two grandchildren, Paige Erin McCabe of Rochester, NY and Thomas H. McCabe of Potsdam, NY; siblings Ruth Mitchell of Lakeland, FL, Patrick (Kay) Michaud of Potsdam, Sallie Thornton of Brewerton NY, Tess (Terry) Alsup of Port Charlotte FL, Kathy Peets and companion (Frank Cleverly) Punta Gorda Fl, Christine (Gary) Newcomb, Syracuse NY, and Caroline (Ken) Pierce, Chittenango, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

Sheila was predeceased by her loving husband, her parents, and a Son Bradley James in 1973. Also, a brother Thomas Michaud in 2019.
