Sandy Tabor was born in Lucasville, Ohio on December 14, 1950, to the parents of Lillian and Allen Tabor. Sandy peacefully passed away at the age of 73 with his wife, Sharyn Tabor (Ramsey) by his side.
He will be lovingly missed by his wife of 48 years; sons, Michael R. Tabor of Mount Laurel, New Jersey, Henry A. Yip, Jr. [Sheila] of Laconia, NH, and daughter, Victoria L. Day of Sanbornton, New Hampshire. Sandy was also the proud Pop-Pop to three beautiful granddaughters, Emily Day, Sophia Day, and Ava Tabor. Sandy will also be remembered by his many brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members, and many friends. Sandy was predeceased by his son, Gerard Tabor.
MM1 Sandy Tabor proudly served 20 years in the United States Navy and retired in 1989. He served on six different naval ships including, the USS Harold J. Ellison DDG-864, the USS Shenandoah AD-26, USS Canopus AS-34, the US Dahlgren DDG-43, the USS Forrestal CVA-59, the USS Dixon AS-37. Sandy also served a tour of duty in Holy Loch, Scotland. Sandy was a proud member of both the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
Sandy was a very talented singer who also loved karaoke. He also enjoyed hunting in the winter, and fishing and golfing in the spring and summer. Sandy leaves us with many memories of boating on Newfound Lake and hanging out in the shallows. Sandy will forever be remembered for his fantastic one-liners that will keep us talking and laughing for many years to come!
Sandy will be interred at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, New Hampshire at a future date to be determined in the spring/summer of 2025.
