Ruth J. Demmon, 90, peacefully passed away at her home in Punta Gorda on Sunday, September 28, 2014. She was born June 1, 1924 in Sullivan County Indiana to Loes G. and Ethel B. Himebrook. Ruth was an active member of Burnt Store Presbyterian Church and the Twin Isles Country Club. She was a talented artist and loved to paint, sew, do crafts or be involved in decorating, especially during the Christmas holidays. She made the holidays come to life at home and at the Club with her decorations. She was a beautiful, exceptionally gifted and gracious lady who will be remembered as a loving wife and mother. Ruth will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 70 years, Harry; son, Gregory (Cynthia) Demmon of Denver; daughter, Cindy (David) Silvers of Grafton, WV; grandchildren, Kimberly (James) Desmond, Brett Haskitt, Tara Demmon, Tiffany (Matthew) Donmoyer, and Brady Demmon; great grandchildren, Mason and Maya Desmond; and sister, Eleanor Banziger of New Jersey. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Fred; sister, Phyllis; and daughter, Cheryl Susan Wanfalt. A Gathering will be held 10:00 to 11:00 am Friday, October 3, 2014 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services with the Memorial Service in celebration of Ruth's life beginning at 11:00.
