Robert L. Summerlin

Robert L Summerlin, 73, of Port Charlotte passed away September 2, 2010. He was the son of Clarence and Mattie (Spann) Summerlin, born January 22, 1937 in Hazlehurst, GA. He served in the United States Air Force. Robert came to this are in 1994 from Tifton, GA and was Supervisor of Maintenance at Waterford Country Club in Venice. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed woodworking, NASCAR, and fishing. Robert will be greatly missed by his wife of 16 years, Freida; daughter, Lynn Summerlin of Lubbock, TX; step-daughters, Wendy Jacobs and Jackie Grantham, both of Port Charlotte; sons, Larry Summerlin of Albany, GA and Rodney Hardy of Lubbock, TX; sisters, Lurene Rentz and Carolyn Thompson both of Hazlehurst, GA, and Cora Lee Adams of Dalton, GA; brother, Lavan of Statesboro, GA; 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
