Richard Oakley

Richard Oakley, Jr., 86, of Punta Gorda passed away October 1, 2006. He was born March 20, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Richard Oakley, Sr. and Viola (Maynard) Oakley. Richard served his country with Army Air Corp in the European Theater during WWII. He was a plumber for many years before retiring. He came to Punta Gorda from Bayonet Point, Massapequa, NY in 2002, and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Richard will be greatly missed by his wife, Doris Oakley; sons, Richard E. (Lynne) Oakely of Punta Gorda and Ronald (Linda) Oakley of Tamarac, FL; 2 granddaughters, and 3 great-granddaughters. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
