Patricia Nimblett Courtney (101) of Punta Gorda, FL, passed away the morning of August 15, 2026. She was born on February 25, 1925, in Fairmont, WV, to William Francis and Julia (McGillicuddy) Nimblett. Patricia graduated as Valedictorian from St. Peter’s High School in Fairmont and attended Mountain State College in Parkersburg, WV.

Pat was always active, especially volunteering in the churches wherever she lived. She typed Sunday bulletins, worked in parish offices, was the first Sacred Heart Parish Council Secretary, often served as lector at Mass, and perhaps, fittingly, acted as Funeral Director for Sacred Heart for many years.

Pat is survived and will be greatly missed by her sons Thomas Berry Cortney (Jacquie) and William Lynn Courtney (Stephanie), two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Berry Courtney and four brothers, their spouses, and her sister and husband, nephews and nieces.

A Memorial Mass will be held on a future date at Sacred Heart Church, Punta Gorda, FL. Arrangements are being handled by Life Celebration Center of Punta Gorda.
