Obituary

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Melinda Kulpin (Bagwell), who was called home on December 20, 2025. Born on October 28, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois, and a resident of Lehigh Acres, Florida, Melinda leaves behind a legacy of warmth, care, and meaningful connections.

Melinda was born to Concetta Barton (née Carbone) and Charles Bagwell (Terri). She was lovingly raised by her mother and her stepfather, Arlin Barton, who played an important role in her life. The love of family shaped her early years and remained her greatest anchor throughout her life.

Professionally, Melinda was a data analyst known for her sharp mind and intelligence. She earned an Associate’s degree from the College of DuPage and took great pride in her work, approaching it with thoughtfulness and care.

On August 12, 2000, Melinda married Michael Kulpin. Together, they built a life rooted in devotion, partnership, and enduring love. To Michael, she was his "Melin"—his wife, soulmate, partner, and love for all of eternity.

Above all, Melinda was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend and was a cherished family member who truly lived for her role as a mother. She loved her children—Nikki, Joey, Vinny, and Mikey—fiercely and without distinction. Family was her greatest purpose and pride.

She also cherished her grandchildren, Rain and Finn, who lovingly knew her as "Grandma Shark." Being their grandmother was one of her greatest joys; she never missed a milestone, celebrating every moment, big or small, with boundless love.

Melinda was wonderfully silly, with a knack for making people laugh and lifting the spirits of everyone around her. She could find the magic in everyday moments, in quiet beauty, in the stars, and in simple acts of kindness. She adored animals and found comfort in their companionship.

One of her greatest passions was cooking and feeding those she loved. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, connection, and care, where no one ever left unfulfilled,—in body or in heart.

She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Kulpin; her children: Nikki Gordon (Channing), Joey Parello (Ashley), Vinny Parello, and Mikey Kulpin; her beloved grandchildren: Rain and Finn; her sister, Kimberly Koulis (Bagwell), (Steve), her many nephews, niece and cousins, and many other cherished family members.

Melinda was preceded in death by many loved ones. She will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and devotion to her family.
