Obituary

Martha Boytim, born Martha Cecelia Wilson, 83, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026, in Port Charlotte, Florida, surrounded by her family.

Born in Macon, Georgia, Martha lived a life defined by family, friendship, adventure, and an extraordinary capacity to love.

She was a devoted mother who balanced raising her family with building a successful career. Beginning as a bookkeeper and accountant, she ultimately became President of Carpenter Communications in Ferndale, Michigan. While proud of her professional accomplishments, her greatest pride was always her family.

Martha’s vibrant personality and zest for life were unmistakable. Her smile was infectious, her laughter contagious, and her energy boundless. She was a fighter who lived with the belief there was always more love and joy to share.

She was an exceptional cook and baker who loved bringing people together. Her home was always open, filled with good food, conversation, and laughter. She didn’t just host gatherings—she made everyone feel like family.

Martha deeply valued her friendships, from lifelong friends like Sue and Rocky to her cherished Florida community, including her Breakers Court neighbors and “WOW girls.” She loved her Punta Gorda life and the family of friends she built there.

She was an adventurous traveler who embraced life fully, whether enjoying sunsets at the Port Austin family cabin, taking in a Tiger’s game, boating in Punta Gorda, attending potlucks and live music with neighbors, or dressing up for a night out. She found joy in both simple moments and grand adventures.

Raised Baptist, Martha lived with an open heart and a deep belief in people. She formed connections easily and treasured every moment with family and friends.

Martha is survived by her children, James Anderson, Karen Rachwal, and Christopher (Lisa Zemens) Boytim; her cherished grandchildren, Tarra Anderson, Shayna (Dave) Parker, Shelby (Devin) Smith, Darby Rachwal, Allison Boytim, Zoe Boytim, Mathew Wiebelhaus, Anne Wiebelhaus and Michael Wiebelhaus; and her great-granddaughter, Chloe Parker.

She is also survived by her siblings and extended family, including Marge Tack, Arlene Boman and her husband Jerry, George Kassarjian, Mike Kipina and his wife Jeanette, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Martha was preceded in death by her father, Walker, mother and dad, Mildred and Ernest Kipina, her former husband, John Darell Boytim, her sister, Marylin Kassarjian, and brother-in-law, Warren Tack.

Those who knew Martha carry forward her warmth, humor, and love. Her presence lives on in the memories she created and the lives she brightened.

We love you, Mom. We always will.

Thank you for your boundless heart, your joy, and the way you taught us to love deeply and live fully.

Rest peacefully, Martha.

You are deeply loved and will be forever missed.

In respecting Martha’s wishes, there will not be a memorial service. Instead, the family will have a small gathering of family and close friends to celebrate Martha’s love for living life to the fullest.
