Marjory "Marjie" Rafn

Marjory "Marjie" Rafn, 92, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025. Born on November 16, 1932, in Rocky River, Ohio, Marjie devoted her life to loving Jesus and her family with unwavering strength, compassion, and grace.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, Robert "Bob" Rafn, with whom she will now be laid to rest at Sarasota National Cemetery. Also preceding her in death were her son Robert Rafn, her daughter Denise Withstandley, and her parents, Nellie and John Peaco.

Marjie is survived by her son John Rafn and daughter-in-law Denise Rafn; daughter-in-law Sherry Rafn; and son-in-law Mike Withstandley. She was a devoted Caregiver to her daughter, Denise for many years and stepped in selflessly to raise her granddaughter, Joy.

Her grandchildren include Joy Truax and husband Chris, Sarah Rafn, Laura Rafn, Matt Rafn and wife Charla, Jennifer Foster and husband Rob, and Jonathan Rafn. She was also blessed with seven cherished great-grandchildren.

Marjie was a talented cook and a creative spirit who loved crafting and sharing her work at flea markets and craft shows. She had a warm, magnetic personality that drew people to her and made everyone laugh. Her generous heart and joyful presence touched all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by all her family.

A private family service will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery to honor her memory and her beautiful life.
