Mario J. Simeola

Mariano J. Simeola, 96, of Punta Gorda, FL, formerly of Ocala, FL, passed away on March 19, 2022. He was born on May 8, 1925, to Frank and Amelia Simeola in New Rochelle, NY. Mariano honorably served in United States Army during WWII and the Korean War. Following his service, he worked as a Hairdresser and Florist for many years. He also provided maintenance for several local churches. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and devote Catholic.

Mariano will be deeply missed by his wife of 42 years, Eleanor; daughter Deborah and her husband Daniel; son Frank and his wife Irene; sister Rosemarie; grandchildren Dominique, DeAnna, Devin, and Andrew; and great-grandchild Bowen.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on April 6, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda with a graveside service at 1:30 pm at the Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the Cancer Society in Mariano’s name.
