IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret "Marge"
Behrmann
January 31, 2026
Margaret (Marge) Behrmann passed away at home with her daughter Marjorie Benson and her friend and caregiver Sherry Kallen by her side on Saturday January 31, 2026. Marge was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 62 years Walter August Behrmann, her beloved grandson Andrew Scott Behrmann, her parents, all her siblings and their spouses, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Marge always knew exactly what she wanted and was not shy in stating she wanted to "make it" till her 90th birthday, then she wanted to go home and be with the Lord, her husband, and all her loved ones waiting for her arrival. Twelve days after her birthday, Marge went from "life to life", life here on earth to eternal life in glory with our God.
Marge was born in Hoboken New Jersey and raised in that area of New Jersey to Sicilian Immigrant parents, Frances Orlando Aragona and Salvatore Aragona. She was the youngest of 7 children. Mom's childhood was a difficult one, yet full of love and wonderful Sicilian food and traditions.
Both Marge and Walter loved the Lord deeply and were sure to share the love of God and the good news of His Word consistently. Marge and Walt brought countless people to Christ, no doubt rejoicing with many of them now in heaven.
In business, Marge and Walter founded Friendly Floors in Port Charlotte in 1986. In 1995 their legacy continued with their daughter Marjorie as owner. Their son Walter William Behrmann played an integral part in the business as well.
Marge and Walter loved playing poker together. Marge was a fierce competitor, particularly at Texas Hold 'Em where she triumphed over many opponents, often surprising them with her tenacity and talent. In her early 70's Marge won a coveted trip and entrance to the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, Marge loved sharing the trip with Walter, her best friend and partner in every venture.
Marge is survived by her children Marjorie Benson and Walter William Behrmann (Christine) as well as her cherished grandchildren Jeffrey Behrmann (Essie), Matthew Behrmann, Addison Behrmann, and Daniel Brister, along with her great-grandson Jayden Behrmann.
A celebration of Marge's life will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 2:00-6:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to honor her remarkable life and legacy. This truly will be a celebration of her life, with a short service followed by good Italian food and drink as Marge would have enjoyed.
