Leona "Lee" M. Kundert-Royston, 83, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away with her family by her side on April 29, 2026.
Lee was born on September 3, 1942, in Troy, New York, to William Joseph Fort and Loretta Zepherine Belden. She was raised in the Catholic faith, which remained an important part of her life. She built a long career in medical billing, spending many years at Inter-Medic Health Center, and was active in her community as past president of the Vintage Motor Car Club of America and a member of the Chamber of Commerce.
She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and her gift for making people laugh. She also gave back to her community each holiday season by ringing the bell for the Salvation Army.
She is survived by her daughters, Leona Scott (Tommy) and Michelle Shadowens (Curtis), and grandson, Jacob Land.
A celebration of life will be held at the Life Celebration Center of Punta Gorda at a later date. Donations may be made to The Salvation Army https://www.salvationarmyusa.org/ in her honor.
