Laura moved to Punta Gorda from South Holland, IL, in 1996. She was a loving wife to Harry, and a loving mother to her daughter Marijane, her son Peter, and his wife Sandy. She is survived by them, her grandsons Iain and Alexander, her granddaughter-in-law Lilliana, and great-grandchild William. She was a member of Peace River Baptist Church. Laura sought to immerse herself in cultures of the world and went on 93 different cruises. She most enjoyed working with her husband, leading the church cruise groups. Laura, along with her husband, sponsored both of her grandchildren to go on mission-style trips to various locations in the world. Laura sang in the church choir and other musical groups as long as her voice would allow. During her years at home, she would host friends to play Tuck, where they traded jokes, talked about life, and indulged in sweet treats. In her final days, Laura was able to hold her great-grandchild William, at the age of just 5 weeks, and experience his joy and life before she passed. She spent her final days lovingly with her husband, daughter, son, grandsons, granddaughter-in-law, and great-grandchild.
