It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Edward Smith, who departed this life on February 10, 2026, at the age of 75. Born in Columbus, Ohio, Larry built a life rich in love, laughter and dedication, ultimately becoming a resident of Grove City, Ohio, and Punta Gorda, Florida.

Larry was a skilled bricklayer, proudly serving for many years in the construction industry as a valued member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers. He honed his craft through two years of masonry school, receiving recognition for his exceptional commitment to his profession, culminating in a 50 years of membership award from the union.

Larry's warmth was felt through his sense of humor and love of family. He was happiest fishing, engaging in spirited games of bingo, exploring yard sales, and winning at the casino. His family will cherish the memories of hours of competitive euchre, cut-throat monopoly, and time camping and hunting. He will be missed by the friends he made playing cards at the YMCA, particularly during the winter months spent in sunny Florida.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Mary Ann Bailey; his children- Shelly Smith, Wyatt Smith, Quinten Smith (Kelly), and Zachary Smith; and his stepchildren- Kurt Bailey (Vonna), Ken Bailey, Karen Thompson (Tim), and Michael Bailey (Lisa). Larry was a devoted grandfather to Courtney Anderson, Trey Smith, Summer Smith, Elliott Smith Hitchcock, and Allie Stauss (Steven). He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Shirley Smith, as well as his sister, Vicki, and stepsister, Doris.

Though no services are planned at this time, Larry's family will honor his memory with a private gathering. They request that his spirit live on through acts of kindness and love, reflecting the warmth he shared throughout his life.
