Kathryn "Kathie" Jean LoVecchio

November 19, 1942 — September 4, 2025

Kathryn "Kathie" Jean LoVecchio, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on November 19, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, Kathie was the cherished daughter of Willard and Jean Berry and an uplifting presence in the lives of those who knew her.

Married to her devoted husband, Santo LoVecchio, for an incredible 64 years, Kathie exemplified the meaning of unconditional love and partnership. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two daughters, Shelly (Ron) Cada and Deanna (Mark) Emmerich. Kathie's greatest joy came from her grandchildren, Lindsey, Glenn, Eric, Dane, and Cole, who brought her immense happiness and fulfillment in her retirement years. She dedicated her time to nurturing their dreams and experiences, while also enjoying the adventures of traveling the world, spending many joyous weekends boating with her husband and their close-knit boating group, and creating cherished memories at her favorite place, her lake house on Lake Nancy.

Kathie is also survived by her beloved sister, Judy McGuire, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will remember her kindness and warmth. She was preceded in death by her dear sister, Ginny Meads, and her parents, Willard and Jean Berry.

The family will honor Kathie's life with a celebration of life that will be held at a later date, when all of her grandchildren can gather to share their memories and love for her, in a place where family and friends will come together to remember the beautiful spirit of Kathie.

In this time of mourning, the family expresses gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult period. Kathie will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

In lieu of flowers, meaningful donations to the Alzheimer's Association www.ALZ.org and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society www.bloodcancerunited.org are requested, reflecting her caring nature and commitment to helping others.
