Joseph William Zulla, Jr. of Punta Gorda, Fl, age 69, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, May 6th with his family by his bed side. Joseph was born on November 19, 1956 in Trenton, New Jersey, the first son of his late parents, Joseph and Lena Zulla.
Joseph loved water sports: fishing, boating, swimming and scuba diving he also loved bowling taking after his father Joseph Sr. and was on several bowling leagues in New Jersey and Charlotte County and loved playing cards and riding his motorcycle, which he owned several over the years. He worked at General Motors and Finest Floor Company in New Jersey and in Florida at Publix Food Market in Punta Gorda in customer service for over twenty-one years.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lena Zulla and sister Eileen Gloria Farina. He is survived by his oldest and loving sisters Marie Ludvig and husband Ronald and sister Jean Green and husband Richard; and his younger brother Robert D. Zulla, his niece Gina Marie and husband Peter Marino and nephew David Wariner and wife Charise, and six grand nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Joseph’s life will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 11:30am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 211 West Charlotte Ave, Punta Gorda, Fl. Services will also be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Trenton N.J. where Joseph will be laid to rest with his parents and sister.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joseph’s memory to St. Vincent de Paul at 25200 Air Port Rd, Punta Gorda, Fl 33950 or The Knights of Columbus, 211 West Charlotte Ave, Punta Gorda, Fl 33950.
