Joseph "Joe" Toth

May 1, 1934 — December 14, 2022

Joseph “Joe” Toth passed away peacefully on December 14th at the age of 88.

Joe was the oldest of two children born in Lorain, Ohio. At 17, he joined the Navy and after an honorable discharge, returned to Ohio where he and his wife of 65 years raised their three children. He worked for Ford Motor Company for over 30 years, but nothing, not even retirement, could slow him down. He found a hidden gem in southern Ohio called Apple Valley, where he loved to go camping with his children and grandchildren. Here, he eventually bought a house on the water. Joe was an avid water enthusiast and loved boating and slalom skiing.

Joe and his wife eventually decided to escape the winter and move to Florida on a permanent basis. Joe was always the life of the party, if of course that party had music. His dancing would captivate a room and his energy gathered crowds to cheer him on. He was the greatest joke teller of all time, an excellent corn hole player, and weekly golfer. He was truly a jack of all trades teaching himself how to do just about anything including woodworking, stained glass art, auto mechanics, and even playing the accordion.

He is survived by his sister Rosemary Toth; children, Joseph (Tracy) Toth, Cynthia Zimmer, Debbie (Russ) Brown; grandchildren, Lisa (John) Murphy, Jennifer (Nate) Hite, Denise (PJ) Schlosser, Tana Zimmer (Joe Schaefer), Michael Toth, Kaitlyn (Devan) Evanczyk; and great-grandchildren Royce, Carson, Benjamin and Miles. He was predeceased by his parents Rose and Joseph Toth; wife Millicent Toth, grandchild William Dudukovich; and son-in-law Tom Zimmer.
