With heavy hearts and a lifetime of cherished memories, we announce the passing of Jon David Luzny. On August 11, 2025, at the age of 83, our family's captain peacefully concluded his earthly voyage, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and profound kindness.

Born on December 11, 1941, to his late parents, Chester and Mary Ellen Luzny, Jon grew up in Toledo, Ohio, alongside his late brother, Richard Chester Luzny. A proud Ohioan, Jon was an alumnus of Hiram College and The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. His devotion to the Buckeyes was legendary; he was an ardent supporter his entire life and was eagerly looking forward to the start of the college football season.

Before crafting smiles for his community, Jon honorably served his country as a Captain in the U.S. Army Dental Corps during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, he dedicated his life to his profession. As the founder of Cedar Creek Family Dental Care in Northwood, Ohio, and a respected member of the Toledo Dental Society for 40 years, Dr. Luzny didn't just fix teeth; he built relationships and cared deeply for the generations of families he treated.

When he wasn't in the office, Jon was most at home on the water. An avid boater and reader, he spent decades exploring the Great Lakes with his family. He was our steady and wise captain, navigating every journey with a calm and capable hand, creating a safe harbor of memories his family will forever treasure.

The guiding star of his life was his beloved wife, Diane Joyce Luzny. Their incredible journey together saw them transition from "snowbirds" between Ohio and Florida to permanently dropping anchor in Punta Gorda. He has now passed the family wheel to his children and grandchildren, trusting them to continue the beautiful voyage he began. Though his time with us has ended, he will forever remain the anchor of Diane's heart, navigating their love into eternity.

His legacy proudly continues through his children, Michael and Michelle, and his four cherished grandchildren: Ledgen , Angie, Colin, and Sarah. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a man of integrity, quiet faith as a member of First Assembly of God in Fort Myers, and a loving sense of humor. He brought light and laughter to everyone, sharing jokes with his family, friends, and even with his nurses in his final days.

In keeping with Jon's wishes, no public visitation or services will be held. His life will be honored privately by his family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to The Ohio State University College of Dentistry or Hiram College, institutions that helped shape the remarkable man he became.
