John D. Smith, 92, of Punta Gorda went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 27, 2014. He was born June 9, 1921 in Green Road, KY. John will be greatly missed by his wife, Ruth Smith; brother, Arnold Smith; son and daughter in law, Glenn and Sherry Hammons; 4 grandsons, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from12 to 1 pm, Friday, January 31, 2014 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services with a funeral service to celebrate John's life to follow at 1 pm.
