With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joan Wanda Montovano, who left us peacefully on November 30, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on May 17, 1930, in Montclair, New Jersey, Joan spent her early years growing up in Clifton, where she attended Lacordaire Academy. She was the beloved daughter of Grace and Vincent Curcio and cherished sister of her brother, Vincent Curcio.

Joan's journey truly blossomed when she met the love of her life, James Montovano. The two were married on April 17, 1949, and together they built a beautiful life, raising their two children, June and James Jr., in a warm and loving home. As a dedicated homemaker, Joan poured her heart into raising her family, ensuring they felt the love and support they needed to thrive.

In 1982, Joan and James retired to sunny Punta Gorda, Florida, where they found new joy in their golden years. They embraced life on the water, indulging in boating adventures with friends and family while also being active members of the Twin Isles Country Club since 1985. Joan found immense happiness playing golf with her husband and dear friends, creating cherished memories that will never be forgotten.

Joan's legacy lives on through her loving family: her daughter, June Esposito; her son, James (Mary) Montovano Jr.; her adoring grandchildren, Robert (Shannon) Kolakowski, Christopher Kolakowski, Danielle (Robert) Esposito Elk, Margaret (Rob Iannaccone) Montovano, and Kate Montovano; and her three great-grandchildren, Evelyn Kolakowski, Zach Kolakowski, and Jack Elk. She touched many lives with her kindness and warmth, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
