It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Evans King, who left this world peacefully on July 9, 2025, at the age of 93. Born in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, Janet dedicated her life to educating and inspiring others as a devoted school teacher for over 30 years. Following her retirement, she moved to Port Charlotte, Florida, in 2003, where she continued to influence those around her with her kindness and wisdom.
An avid baseball fan, Janet was a loyal supporter of the Philadelphia Phillies. She had a special fondness for dachshunds, which often brought her much joy and companionship. Janet's family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her loving grandson, Kenneth E. Cryster; cherished granddaughters Sarah Baily, her husband Wade, and their children Kaylee Elizabeth, Briar Ann, and Wyatt Howard, and Christina Conley, her husband Dew, and their son Dew Jeffrey; her son-in-law, Kenneth H. Cryster; and daughter-in-law Kathy King.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James King; her daughter, Lisa Cryster; and her stepson, David King. Janet's legacy of love, dedication, and laughter will continue to resonate throughout her family and the many lives she touched.
