Irene E. Williams

Irene Ernestine Gibson-Williams was born on June 19, 1938 in Sarasota, Florida to Jerry and Martha Clark. Irene moved to Cincinnati, Ohio as a young child where she went to school and graduated from Taft High School. Eventually she moved back to Sarasota County and met Sylvester Williams Sr. They were married for 22 years and together they had four wonderful children Sylvester Williams Jr. (Deborah Williams), Jere Williams, Martha Williams, and John Williams. 

Irene was well loved and considered a second mother to her siblings early on in life when her mom became ill. She took well care of her siblings Renae Sayre, Anthony Clark (Cynthia Clark), Mary Armstead, Jerry Clark Jr. (Nancy Clark), Evelyn Clark Evans, Kathy Clark, and Samuel Clark (Samirra Clark). Irene loved caring for others and worked as a CNA until she became a Registered Nurse at the age of 38. She worked her way up in her nursing career, becoming a charge nurse and held this position for many years. Due to an injury, she started working part-time later in life giving her a grand total of forty plus years in the Healthcare industry at the age of 83 throughout the Sarasota County and Charlotte County area.  Among many of her accomplishments during the early 2000's, Irene opened up her home to start an adult group home facility for a few years. 

Irene will be remembered for her big heart and the ability to love and care for others not only by her siblings and children, but also by her seven grandchildren Darius Williams (Brandi Williams); Rudelton Bellamy, Shamequa Newell, Lakeysha Newell, LeCole Newell, Tydarius Newell, and Ashley Williams. Her thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, many cousins, niece's and nephew's and a host of friends. 

She was preceded in death by her sons Sylvester Williams Jr. and Jere Williams, and sister Evelyn Clark Evans.
