Ilse J. Stone

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ilse J. Stone, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who left this world on October 6, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on November 12, 1931, in Freiburg, Germany, Ilse came to the United States in 1962, settling in Plano, Texas, before later moving to the warm embrace of Punta Gorda, Florida, in 2001. 

A devoted military spouse for 41 years, Ilse cherished her life with her late husband, Sergeant Major William Stone, who preceded her in death in 2011. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Ilse’s unwavering commitment to her family was evident in her desire to be close to her children, following them wherever they may go. Ilse enjoyed a successful career as a sales associate at Dillard's, where her vibrant spirit and dedication to service shone brightly. She was an active member of the Cape Coral German American Club, where she found joy dancing alongside her husband, Bill and had a passion for gardening, where she found joy and tranquility. As a faithful Christian, she deeply valued her beliefs and community.

Her legacy lives on through her daughters, Marianne Cassidy and Doris Fromm, along with her two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who will forever carry her love and teachings in their hearts. 

A memorial service will be held to honor Ilse’s life on November 1, 2025. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Life Celebration Center of Punta Gorda. The schedule of events is as follows: a Gathering of Family & Friends will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by the Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. A reception will take place at 12:00 PM to celebrate her incredible life and the love she shared with all.
