Henrietta Marie Briggs, a beloved mother, educator, and cherished friend, will be remembered for her vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication to her family and community. She passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025, in Port Charlotte, Florida, at the remarkable age of 97. Born on August 1, 1927, in Richland Center, Wisconsin, Henrietta's journey through life was filled with love, laughter, and a passion for learning.
As a dedicated teacher, Henrietta inspired countless students with her enthusiasm and nurturing approach. After a rewarding career in education, she retired in 1985, moving to Port Charlotte in 2014. Henrietta found a sense of belonging at San Antonio Catholic Church, where she engaged with her community and formed lasting friendships.
Henrietta's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving children, daughters Marilyn Briggs, Nancy Briggs, Joan Doolittle, Margaret Gant, Susan Briggs, and son Michael Briggs. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Dallas Briggs, in December 2015, and her beloved sister, Marcella Connerton, who passed away in May 2025.
In honoring Henrietta's remarkable life, family and friends will gather for a memorial service at 11:00 AM on June 27, 2025, at San Antonio Catholic Church in Port Charlotte, FL.
Henrietta's legacy of kindness, compassion, and vibrant spirit will continue to inspire all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Although she will be deeply missed, her warmth and joy will forever remain in our hearts.
