Hazel L. Hitchings, 101, of Punta Gorda, FL, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on May 5, 2022. She was born on September 13, 1920, in Ottumwa, Iowa to Fred and Amy Miller. Hazel was a resident of Florida since 1924, relocating to Punta Gorda in 2013 from Miami.
Hazel was a beloved mother of 4, grandmother of 6, and great-grandmother of 4. She was deeply devoted to her family and helping others. She will always be fondly remembered as "Great Hazel” by her grandchildren.
The family will hold a private family graveside service in the future.
