Hanby Leighton Ingram, 17, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away on September 10, 2025.
Hanby had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, sailing, and treasured vacations in the mountains of North Carolina. Being on the water brought him peace, and his adventurous spirit made him an avid sailor. At the same time, he found joy in the simple moments-golfing and gaming with friends, sharing time with family, and caring for animals, with whom he had a natural and special bond. At an early age, Hanby and his brothers started a landscaping business; maintaining lawns in the downtown historic district of Punta Gorda. Hanby was a student of Florida Southwestern Collegiate High School with aspirations of earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He often could be found working on automobiles, motors, and tinkering with all sorts of machinery.
He worked at Publix as a cashier and clerk, where his kindness and sense of humor touched everyone he met. A proud multigenerational Floridian, he cherished his roots while embracing life with curiosity, intelligence, and joy.
Hanby is survived by his father, Leighton Ingram (Danielle Carraway); his mother, Victoria Goode; his sister, Hunter Ingram; his brothers, Hugh and Harrison Ingram, and Evan, Noah, and Tristan Carraway; his grandparents, Jim and Marivel Creighton, his aunt, Christina Daniels (Adam Button); and his cousins, Leighton and Rae Daniels.
Those who knew Hanby will remember him as intelligent, funny, sensitive, and deeply kind. He was a loyal friend to many, always quick to brighten a room, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
In lieu of flowers, Hanby's family is requesting donations in his name to The Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County, https://www.awlshelter.org/ and Gulf Shore Sailing, https://www.learntosailswf.org/donate-to-our-organization1.html .
