Gayla Sovine

Gayla Ann Sovine, 65, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away at her home on April 24th, 2025 after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Paul B. Boyles and Ruby B. Boyles of Hurricane, WV. She was preceded in death by her grandson Ethan Thompson.

She is survived by her husband, Robert (Bobby) Sovine; daughters Cassandra Bishop Thompson of Hurricane, WV and Sammie Jo Bishop Allen of Huntington, WV; grandchildren Seth R. Thompson and Layla Thompson, Fayth Johnson and Braxton Johnson; brothers David Boyles of Hurricane, WV, Paul Boyles of Pliny, WV and Bobbie Jo Cottrell of Ocala, FL.

She was a 1977 graduate of Hurricane High School, Hurricane, WV and retired from the United Parcel Service in 2013. She was a person full of life and never shied away from adventure. As a child, she began riding horses and never gave up her love for them. A true "Mountaineer" she loved watching WVU Football. Her last wishes were to be cremated and no services will be held.
