Donald R. Kemmerling, Sr.

Donald R. Kemmerling, Sr., 83, of Punta Gorda, FL, formerly of Chicago, IL passed away Monday, March 17, 2014. He was born November 14, 1930 in Evanston, IL . Donald served in the US Navy as an Air Traffic Controller. Donald was a retired air traffic controller and manager. He was a member of the Lions, Punta Gorda Boat Club and former member of Charlotte Harbor Yacht Club. Donald will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed playing tennis , going boating, and flying. Donald was an enthusiastic model airplane builder and flyer. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 65 years, Gay; son, Donald (Kathy) Kemmerling, Jr., of IL; daughter, Carolyn Laitsch of CA; grandchildren, Michelle, Stacy, Don III, Matthew and Katie; great-grandson, Jake and many nieces and nephews.
