It is with deep love and sorrow that we share the passing of Charles T. Meisse, known to many as Tom, who passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, at the age of 80.
Tom was born on November 10, 1944, in Teaneck, New Jersey, to Charles M. and Viola M. Meisse. He spent the majority of his life in Medford, NJ, where he built a close-knit community and raised his family, later retiring to Punta Gorda, Florida.
Tom attended St. Peter's University in Jersey City, NJ, where he played baseball with passion and talent. His dedication to the sport earned him a place in the St. Peter's University Athletics Hall of Fame-an honor he was deeply proud of. He remained a loyal and enthusiastic alumnus for the rest of his life.
A lifelong sports fan, Tom had an unwavering loyalty to the New York Yankees and the New York Giants, rarely missing a game and always ready to talk stats or relive the glory days. He also found peace and joy in fishing-whether casting a line from a beach or enjoying the rhythm of the water, it was one of his favorite pastimes.
Tom is survived by his loving children: Susan Passer and her husband Todd, and their daughters Riley and Madison Passer; and Thomas Meisse and his wife Jennifer, and their daughters Brooklyn and Ella Meisse.
He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Patricia Eleanor Manning.
Tom will be remembered for his warm heart, steady presence, and quiet wit. He lived a life grounded in family, loyalty, and grace-and his memory will continue to shine in the lives of those he touched.
