It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brandon D'Von Kelly, a beloved son, grandson, husband, father, brother, uncle, and cherished friend, who departed this life on February 13, 2026, at the age of 35. Born on September 29, 1990, in Gary, Indiana, Brandon was a beacon of love and support for all who had the privilege of knowing him. He made Davenport, Florida, his home, where he created countless memories with his family.
Brandon accepted Christ at a young age, under the guidance of Bishop Cynthia E. Wesley of God's Universal House of Blessings Spiritual Church in Chicago, which laid a foundation for his faith and character.
Brandon attended Bloom Trail High School in Chicago Heights, IL, where his love for basketball shone bright. He had an affinity for music, venturing into the world of music as an artist, co-creating a musical project alongside his childhood friend "Sko," under the name KellyBoi. His love for music, basketball, and stylish attire painted a vibrant portrait of a man who embraced life with enthusiasm. Throughout his life, he embraced opportunities to sing, dance, and nurture connections with his family and friends.
A dedicated truck driver by profession, Brandon embraced his vocation in the transportation industry with the same passion he applied to all aspects of his life. He was an embodiment of generosity, living by the motto "everybody eat." He shared not just his meals but also his resources, wisdom, and unwavering support with those around him. Known for his compassionate nature, he was always there to listen, console, and uplift others, often answering late-night calls with the encouragement that would empower those in need. He was awarded the "Man of Life" by his family, a testament to his generous spirit and selflessness.
He was united in marriage to Ashley on August 16, 2021, in Tampa, Florida. Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
A dedicated family man, Brandon is survived by his loving wife, Ashley Christine Kelly, and cherished children: Bakari, Jaydon, Lailani, Brandon, Braden, Hezekaih, and Banks. He leaves behind his caring parents, Carey and Sharon Kelly, Janet Barrow, and Bridget Carter, his grandmother, Letha Cooper. Brandon is remembered with love by his siblings: Byron (Bianca), Kiona (Bryan), Brayel, Chiquita, Chantel, Chania, Shamekia, Carey, Asia, Trevon, Devon, and Kirah; and his devoted aunts and uncles, including Regina Wallace, Theresa Sago, Robert Armstrong, Bruce Kelly, and Robert Kelly. Additionally, he generously extended his love to his cherished nephews and nieces, Bryson, Bryce, Baylen, Maison, LaJavious, Davion, Elijah, Xyur, Josiah, Kiami, Nevaeh, Asaiah, Rheanna, Sophia, Marleigh, Ramiya, Maliyah, great-niece Cora, sisters-in law Tiffany Whiley-Barnes and Nastasia Whiley, and the bonds with his childhood friends, Joshua "Lake" Fox, Eugene "Sko" Gayden, and Brandon Love.
Brandon is preceded in death by his beloved son, Banks Zachary Kelly, his grandfather, Robert Cooper, his grandparents, Lucious and Kostella "Joann" McClairn, and his nephew, Bryan Watson Jr.
As we celebrate the life of Brandon D'Von Kelly, let us remember the strength of his spirit, the kindness he shared, and the love he embodied. May his memory live on in our hearts as we carry forward the lessons learned from his extraordinary life.
