IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Audrey Marilyn
Muccio
October 28, 1940 – February 6, 2026
Audrey Marilyn Muccio, 85, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026, in Kennesaw, Georgia. Born Audrey Marilyn Warde on October 28, 1940, in New York, she lived a life defined by devotion to family, service to her community, and kindness to everyone she met.
Audrey was the daughter of John Norwood Warde and Ermyntrude Warde (née Crane). Before moving from Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, she attended Ramsey High School, where she excelled academically, served as a baton twirler for the band and football team, and was inducted into the National Honor Society at the Wheatley School. She graduated as valedictorian of her class, already demonstrating the discipline and leadership that would define her life.
Shortly after high school, Audrey married the love of her life, Daniel Joseph Muccio, on May 2, 1959, at the Church of the Advent in New York. Together, they built a beautiful life and homes in Westbury, New York and eventually Punta Gorda, Florida, where Audrey lived for the final 48 years of her life. They raised three children—Lisa, Kathy, and Dan—who were always at the center of everything she did.
Audrey often said her greatest accomplishment was “watching my children grow up and enjoying my family.” She lived that truth every day. She was a devoted PTA mom, team mom, Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader, and a constant source of encouragement and stability, always making sure her family stayed close and connected no matter how far life carried them. She loved bowling in local leagues and traveling with her husband and family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
In her early years, Audrey was employed by the Bell companies. After settling in Punta Gorda, she became a self-employed engraver, a career she truly loved. Through her engraving business, she helped countless individuals and local businesses and formed lasting friendships along the way. When asked to describe herself in one word, Audrey chose “helpful,” a simple and perfect reflection of her generous spirit.
Audrey volunteered at the hospital gift shop, mentored many young children throughout the years, and served as president and treasurer of the Punta Gorda chapter of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA). A devoted member of ABWA for more than 40 years, she was passionate about helping women further their education through scholarships and community support.
She was also deeply committed to preserving local history and culture, remaining active with the Punta Gorda Historical Society, the Victorian Home Museum, and the Train Depot Antique Mall. Audrey cherished life’s simple joys—live music (most recently enjoying performances by the Collections band), time spent with friends, and being surrounded by family.
One of Audrey’s fondest childhood memories was spending a summer at her grandmother’s home in Cape Cod at the age of nine. That love of travel stayed with her throughout her life, including fulfilling her dream vacation to Alaska with Dan and family. She believed deeply in kindness and lived by simple wisdom, often saying, “If someone says something nice to you, say thank you. If you don’t like it, don’t say anything.”
Audrey was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel Joseph Muccio, after 56 years of marriage.
She is survived by her brother, John Warde, and sister-in-law, Pattilynn Warde; her children, Lisa Muccio (Brett Hubinger), Kathy Muccio (Greg Emerson), and Dan Muccio (Kelly Raynes); her grandchildren, Danielle Turmaud (Jean Phillippe), Kandon Render (Kristen), Bria Hubinger (Kate), Katrina Muccio (Joe Cyriac), Danny Muccio, Kelli Hubinger, and Corinne Hubinger; and her great-grandchildren, Adaline, Jean Leo, Eliza, and soon-to-be baby girl Turmaud #3.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Audrey’s memory to the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) Scholarship Fund. Please make checks payable to ABWA and mail to: WhitCo Insurance, C/O Alexia Martin 25191 Olympia Ave, Unit 2, Punta Gorda, FL 33950.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 20, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Life Celebration Center of Punta Gorda, 1515 Tamiami Trail, Punta Gorda, Florida 33950.
Audrey Marilyn Muccio will be remembered for her warmth, humility, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family and community. She lived a life of quiet strength and genuine kindness. Her unconditional love held our family together and her legacy will continue in the lives she touched.
