It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Alma Susan Brown Steinbrook, a vibrant soul who left us peacefully on December 8, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on April 8, 1946, in the town of Dingess, West Virginia, Susan was lovingly adopted at age four by Raymond C. Brown and Elizabeth Mabel Howell Brown, who provided her with a foundation of love and support.

A proud graduate of Portsmouth High School in 1964 and later earning a teaching degree from Ohio University in 1969, Susan approached life with passion and dedication. After saying "I do" to her beloved husband Roger on July 5, 1969, the couple settled in Orient, Ohio, where their home was filled with love, laughter, and the joy of raising their four fur babies.

In 1972, they ventured into entrepreneurship together, founding the Steinbrook Insurance Agency in Sterling, Ohio where she served as an agent and Vice President. Susan's warmth and unwavering commitment were instrumental in making the agency a pillar of the community, where she built lasting friendships and touched countless lives.

In 2011, Susan and Roger swapped Ohio winters for Florida sunshine, moving to Englewood, where they created a wonderful life filled with relaxation, joy, and memorable outings by the beach.

Susan is survived by her devoted husband, Roger, who stood by her side through thick and thin for over 56 years. She also leaves behind her sister, Doris Lambert (Randy) of Beavercreek, Ohio, and her brother, Kenny Brown (Pam) of Huntington, West Virginia, as well as countless friends and family who adored her.

Susan was preceded in death by her brothers Marion Finley and John Finley Jr., and sisters Mary Finley, Nancy Finical, Betty Finley Harris, Yvonne Cooley, and Janet Finley.

Susan's kind spirit and loving heart will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of compassion and warmth will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
