Alan Lawrence Locke

Alan L. Locke, 73, of Punta Gorda, and formerly of Boston, MA and Washington DC, died at his home on Sunday, December 13, 2009 after a battle with cancer. Alan was the son of Arthur"Leo" and Lillian (Mahler) Locke, born August 12, 1936 in Boston, MA. He was a graduate of Boston University (1960) with a degree in Public Relations and was a US Army veteran. Alan was a former publisher of WINNING CAMPAIGNS magazine, and was well-known in the political consulting field. Alan had also been an editor, writer and columnist for several newspapers in Mass. and Pa. He took great joy in being a grandfather. Alan will be greatly missed by his wife, Betty (Cole); three children, Laura (Rick) Petze of Norfolk, MA; Gary(Denise) Locke, of Peabody, MA; and Gregg (Aleta) Locke, of Mashpee, MA; and many grandchildren.
