Ahilya Prashad was born in Albion, Guyana, on August 27, 1947. She passed peacefully at her home in Port Charlotte, Florida, on June 4, 2026.

Ahilya is survived by her son, Shane, and his wife, Idalia; her daughter, Simi, and her partner, Ines; and her two beloved grandchildren, Maya and Noah.

She was preceded in death by her first-born son Fidel, whom she mourned deeply throughout her life.

Ahilya is also lovingly remembered by her two brothers, Raymond and Herman, and her two sisters, Camille and Pamala, along with many other relatives and friends whose lives she touched with her kindness, strength, and love.

Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and her legacy will live on through her family and the many lives she enriched.
