Gordon I. Schmidt

Gordon Schmidt, 82, of Lake Suzy passed away December 25, 2008. He was born March 9, 1926 in Flint, Michigan to Frank and Mertie (Lewis) Schmidt. Gordon served in the US Navy during WWII and then worked for General Motors as a superintendent of manufacturing before retiring. He moved from Broadview Heights, Ohio to Punta Gorda in 1987. Gordon was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, American Legion and Past Exalted Ruler of the Punta Gorda Elks #2606. Gordon will be greatly missed by his wife of 60 years; Mary; sons, Gregory (Maryanne), Mark, Bradley and Karl (Jamie); 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jarvis. A memorial service will be 11:00 am, March 14, 2009 at Church of the Good Shepherd in Punta Gorda.
