Charles S. Miller, 83, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away November 15, 2008. He was born January 29, 1925 in Akron, Ohio to the late Mary (Likens) and Charles Miller, Sr. Charles served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He retired from Akron Fire Department after 30 years and then continued working at Brink's until he moved to Florida in 1994. Charles was a 32nd Degree Mason, member of Akron Mounted Patrol, Goodyear Saddle Club and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed wood working, gardening, horses and boating. Charles will be greatly missed by his wife of 61 years, Mary Elizabeth; daughters, Donna Kelley, Nancy (Bob) Slaney and Kathy (Bud) Hockensmith; son, Bruce; brother, Howard; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack and sister, Martha. A service in celebration of Charles' life will be 11:00 am, Saturday, November 22, 2008 with Rev. Larry Pope officiating at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care, 1144 Veronica Street, Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
