Albert Joseph Kohut went to his heavenly home on May 17, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Deborah Taylor Kohut and will also be deeply missed by his sister Elizabeth Simonson (Steve) of Elyria, OH; his eight children, David Kohut, Annette Chenoweth (Steve), Kenneth Kohut, and Reni Barnes (Elgin), all of Ohio, Mary E. Ritchie (Jimmy) of Indianapolis, IN, Margaret Miller (Steve)of East Stroudsburg, PA, Stanley Kohut (Jennifer) of Clearwater, FL, and Adam Kohut (Rebekah), of Port Charlotte, FL; his 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Albert George Kohut, mother Jeannie (Alferio) Kohut, of Oberlin, OH, sister Susan (Kohut) Murphy of Port Charlotte, FL, and grandson Gabriel Kohut of Oberlin, OH.
Al was a longtime resident of Indianapolis/Fishers, Indiana. He worked in the Education Department of Roche Dialogistic for forty years before retiring in 2013. Al relocated to Port Charlotte eight years ago with his wife and became a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church. He was an avid model railroader and belonged to the local model railroad club. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him. Al was an extraordinary man who loved His God, his family, and his country dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes contributions to be made to the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (7725 N. College Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46240).
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Easy Street, Port Charlotte, FL. His ashes will be buried in the Memory Garden of the church immediately following the mass.
